Journey into the Yellowstone: Yellowstone / Grand Teton National Parks

American Plains Bison - Yellowstone National Park

Finally got all the pictures to properly show off one of the most exciting trips I went on this year! Back in early June, I was able to take a trip with my family to one of the most majestic landscapes in the country, Yellowstone National Park!

Over the course of 6 days we had plenty of fun adventures out in Montana/Wyoming. We spent the majority of our time exploring the truly colossal Yellowstone National Park, with other sites we visited along the way being the equally stunning Grand Teton National Park, Custer Gallatin National Forest, and the great little Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center!

Grey Wolf - Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center

This trip was incredible, we camped out through a near freezing night (fully unprepared for that level of cold), before shifting into a cabin for the rest of the trip. We were right next to lightning strikes while observing the wolves at the Discovery Center. We had tons of close but safe encounters with the park's iconic American Bison, and on the last day we were lucky enough to see Moose and Black Bear. The views of Artists Point and the Grand Teton Mountain Grand were breathtaking and the geothermal sites such as Grand Prismatic and Old Faithful was a good reminder that we were standing on the largest super volcano on the continent.

I will never forget this trip to the world's first national park, and it was made even more special by being able to explore this wild landscape with my family! Here to hoping that I'll be back to explore that amazing place again sometime soon!
