Exploring Urban Jungles.
I have a long history with zoos and other wildlife institutions. Growing up in the city of Chicago, I didn’t have much access to wildlife, other than the amazing zoos and aquarium that call the city home. Those organizations are what led to my love of the natural world. I volunteered at my local zoo for all of high school, before pursing a Bachelor's degree in Zoo Science.
I have been a zookeeper at several institutions and had the opportunity to meet and work with dozens of amazing species of animal. These incredible experiences have only continued to push my love for wildlife and I want to try and share that passion with the rest of the world.
Once I had a stable job, I decided to push myself to visit as many wildlife institutions as possible. Through these experiences I’ve been able to get a good understanding of the many ways these organizations can make a difference both in their local communities and around the world! Every single one has a different feel to them, they take different approaches to inspiring people, and showcase a different selection of unique species.
My love of wildlife connected with a newly found love of photography and I took it upon myself to try and document all of these amazing animals at the zoos, aquariums and wildlife attractions that I’ve been able to visit. If I could sum up my life into a single phrase, it would be that if you have a passion for something, pursue it, if you feel doubt in yourself, ignore it, and if you are presented with an opportunity, take it!
